Applying for Work Rights

There are certain conditions for students and they need to work following these conditions only. Knowing these conditions will help you and keep you aware from making mistakes:

• Students are allowed to work for 48 hours only fortnightly if their sessions are ongoing.
• During holidays, students can work an unlimited number of hours.
• Work hours conditions are applicable for Remote jobs also.
• Students must pay tax on their income.
• Students should have payslips towards their salary.

For Australian student visa holders, 48 hours working is counted towards elective subjects with work requirements:

• WIL (Work Integrated Learning): If your elective subject is associated with WIL then it will be taken under the work limit of 48 hours.
• Internship: Your internship is an elective subject that will be considered under the 48-hour work limit even if it is unpaid.
