Parent Visa

Parent Visa-Stay With Your Family in Australia

At Kanart Migration, we understand the importance of family, and the Parent Visa allows parents to join their children who are living permanently in Australia. Moreover, the visa brings families together and is sponsored by their Australian resident child fulfilling the eligibility criteria.

Furthermore, given the annual cap on the number of Parent Visas issued, the demand for this visa is consistently high worldwide. Our team at Kanart Migration is committed to guiding you through the process, ensuring your application meets all requirements and maximizes your chances of success.

Eligibility for Australian Parent Visa

For the Australian Parent Visa, applicants must fulfill the eligibility criteria, including passing the Balance of Family Test, which ensures the majority of the applicant's children residing in Australia are either Australian citizens or permanent residents of Australia or eligible New Zealand citizens.

Note: Parent visa holders are not immediately eligible for the Australian Age Pension. Permanent residents must wait a minimum of 10 years before qualifying for this benefit.

Benefits

Australian Parent Visa comes with so many benefits as permanent residents of Australia, including:

Aged Parent Visa
(Subclass 804)

This one is specifically for elderly parents of Australian citizens, permanent residents, or eligible New Zealand citizens. Also, it is available for applicants already in Australia and grants permanent residency, allowing them to live in the country indefinitely.

Contributory Parent Migrant Visa
(Subclass 173 to 143)

This allows temporary visa holders under Subclass 173 to transition to permanent residency through Subclass 143. This option is ideal for parents planning to move from temporary residence to a more secure and permanent status in Australia.

Contributory Aged Parent Visa
(Subclass 864)

It offers a gateway to permanent residency for aged parents of Australian citizens, permanent residents, or eligible New Zealand citizens. Furthermore, it is an onshore visa that is processed faster than other parent visa types but requires a higher financial investment.

Contributory Aged Parent Visa
(Subclass 884)

This is a temporary visa which is valid for two years only. It is intended for parents of Australian permanent residents or eligible New Zealand citizens. Also, the visa is processed faster than other parent visa categories. The cost of the visa process is comparatively higher. Moreover, after two years, visa holders can apply for permanent residency.
